Castor Oil packs: a how to guide

Despite being a little messy, castor oil packs are a really useful way of supporting your liver and lymphatic system to eliminate toxins. This is a step by step guide on how to do them yourself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But why?

Castor oil packs are great if you’ve got liver disorders, a history of constipation, swollen lymph glands, acne, methylation troubles, menstrual issues, pain or muscle injury and ANYONE with a BIOTOXIN ILLNESS.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’d be hard pressed to find me a chronically ill patient with optimal detox and elimination function. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Using heat and castor oil is a gentle way to open detox channels, which is usually the first step to recovery from a biotoxin illness and its especially useful when you’re too sensitive to tolerate supplements.

Castor oil

Step by step guide:

Old hand towels make perfect castor oil packs

Materials needed:

Around 500ml castor oil from a health food or bulk food store;

A clean old handtowel;

1 hot water bottle or heat pack,

2 old towels one to lie on and another as a blanket

And some cling wrap or other piece of plastic to prevent the castor oil staining the heat pack.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀


💥Fold the handtowel into a rectangular shape that fits over your abdomen⠀⠀

💥put it into an oven proof Pyrex or ceramic dish and saturate the towel in castor oil. You want it to be saturated until it’s sticky, not drippy. ⠀⠀⠀

💥heat to a comfortable temperature in the oven or microwave (you’re putting it on your skin, you want it hotter than warm, but not hot enough to burn yourself) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💥prepare the heat pack or hot water bottle⠀⠀⠀

💥lie down on the old towel and place the warm castor oil pack on your abdomen, liver region or uterus depending on what you’re supporting⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💥cover the castor oil pack with plastic to protect the other towel or blanket⠀⠀

💥place the heat pack on top of the plastic covering the castor oil pack

💥arrange the spare towel over yourself as a blanket ⠀

⏳ enjoy the warmth for 30+ minutes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The castor oil pack can be stored in a ziplock bag in the fridge and reused for months. Apply more oil when it dries out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Repeat 2-3x weekly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
